Information used here

Account information includes your email, verification and session records, public name, optional photo, organisation and biography, notification preferences and terms acceptance version and date. Contribution records include posts, comments, votes, reactions and subscriptions. Security controls may process IP addresses, request metadata, rate-limit records and administrator audit events.

Some contributions and author records were imported from Productboard, Featurebase or connected product workflows. Their source, external identifiers and ownership links help preserve discussion history and prevent duplicates. An imported record is not evidence that you accepted this version of the terms or consented to every possible public use.

What other people can see

Public contributions, display names, profile photos, optional profile information and contribution history can be read without signing in. Your sign-in email is not a public profile field. However, text, images or files you submit may themselves identify you, your centre or another person. Review content before sharing it.

Members may receive notifications containing public contributions they follow. Administrators can access additional account and moderation information to manage the portal; private account information is not intended for the public API.

Purposes and choices

We use account and contribution data to provide the community service you request, secure access, attribute contributions, moderate abuse and respond to your requests. Depending on applicable law, these activities rely on providing the service, legitimate interests in running a safe community, or legal obligations. Where optional processing requires consent, it must be a separate choice; accepting terms is not a blanket privacy consent.

Notification preferences let you control discussion and product update emails. Sign-in, email-change and account-closure messages are security messages needed for operations you request. The portal does not require marketing consent to provide access or privacy controls.

Service providers and international processing

The portal uses infrastructure providers to host and secure data, and Amazon SES to deliver transactional and subscribed emails. SES receives recipient addresses and message content for delivery. Authorised ggCircuit staff and providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate; contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data and location.

External media hosts receive connection information when your browser requests their images. Following an external link takes you to a separately operated service. This portal does not embed advertising or analytics scripts, and does not sell account information through an advertising integration.

Retention, withdrawal and closure

Account data is used while the account is active. You can delete your own comments; their public text and embedded attachments are removed from the discussion and your comment history, while other people’s replies remain. A minimal internal deletion record prevents imported comments from being republished. Previously delivered emails, external copies and backups are not instantly recalled by this action.

When you confirm account closure, access is revoked and public account identity is removed. Contributions remain as “Deleted user” and aggregate voting totals are preserved. This is removal of public attribution, not a guarantee that free text is legally anonymous. Words, images or files can still identify a person. Withdraw identifying comments before closing, or ask us to review content you cannot remove yourself.

Restricted technical identifiers, suppression records and security or audit records may remain where needed to prevent reimporting a removed identity, protect integrity, handle disputes or meet legal obligations. Backups may retain earlier data until their normal expiry. Contact us about applicable retention periods or a wider erasure request; account closure is not a claim that every internal copy has been physically erased.

Your rights and how to use them

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection or withdrawal of consent. You may also contact your data protection authority. We may need proportionate verification of your identity before acting. Exercising a right does not require agreeing to a new version of the participation terms.

Use account settings for profile changes, notification preferences, your comments and account closure. If you cannot access your original email, or a contribution is incorrectly attributed, contact privacy@ggcircuit.com. We do not automatically give an account ownership based only on a display name. Closing this portal account does not delete data in other ggCircuit services; identify those services in your request if relevant.
